Join us in kicking off the 16th edition of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival on Friday, September 18 at August Wilson African American Cultural Center with an unforgettable evening celebrating the music of our America 250. The Festival Kickoff Concert launches an exciting weekend in Downtown Pittsburgh with a dynamic live performance experience honoring the rich musical traditions, cultural influences, and artistic innovation that continue to shape the American soundscape. Featured artists will be announced soon. 

Tickets to the Festival Kickoff Concert include access to the highly anticipated Taste of Jazz post-concert culinary celebration, a beloved PIJF tradition bringing together live music, vibrant culture, and unforgettable flavors under one roof. 

What is Taste of Jazz? It’s the curated tasting experience in Pittsburgh’s Downtown Cultural District where jazz lovers and culinary connoisseurs come together for a flavorful fusion of music, visual art, and chef-crafted bites from some of Pittsburgh’s hottest restaurants. 

The Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival outdoor weekend returns to Liberty Avenue with free programming and paid VIP upgrades available. Additional festival details and performer announcements will be released soon.
